Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data the apps listed in section 2 process, why, who receives it, how long it is kept and how you can control it. It applies to every app in that list, on every platform it is published on, and to the support we give by email.
- There is no account or sign-in. We never ask for your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or location.
- To run the leaderboards, the app creates an ID for your device and sends your game results, the leaderboard name you choose and, if you pick one, your state or province.
- Your leaderboard name, state or province, scores and times are public to other players of the same app.
- Google (Firebase and AdMob), and for the optional "Remove Ads" purchase RevenueCat, Google Play or Apple, process data to measure use, report crashes, protect the leaderboards, show ads and handle purchases.
- We do not sell your personal data. You can ask us at any time to see or delete it.
1. Who we are
The apps are developed and published by Nur Ameerul Ameen bin Nor Hassan, an individual developer based in Putrajaya, Malaysia, who publishes as "Ameerul" on Google Play and as "Nur Ameerul" on the App Store, under the brand name MeenWise. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean this developer, who is responsible for (the "controller" of) the personal data the apps process.
Contact for anything about privacy: meenzerdev@gmail.com.
2. Apps covered
One quiz app per country: world flags, capitals and maps, plus the flags, symbols and maps of that country's states, provinces or other regions. All are published by the developer named above.

Store names can change with updates or differ by language; the package or bundle ID stays the same. Older versions of an app may not have every feature described here (for example leaderboards by state or the "Remove Ads" purchase).
3. Data we process
3.1 Data you give us
- Leaderboard name: the name shown next to your results. You can change it at any time in the app (Profile). Please do not use your full real name or anything else that identifies you.
- State or province (optional): the state, province, region, governorate, department or district you choose to represent on the leaderboards.
- Messages: if you email us, your email address and whatever you write.
3.2 Data the app creates and sends to our servers
- Device ID: on first start the app creates an identifier for your device (from an ID the operating system provides to the app, or a random value if none is available) and stores it on the device. It is sent with your results so that they stay yours across updates; it is shown in the app's Profile as "ID". Leaderboards never show it: they carry only a one-way hash of it (a "player ID") so the app can find your own row.
- Game results: the app (country), game mode and region played, number of questions, score, time taken, final score and when the result was set.
- Connection data: like any internet request, the request carries your IP address, which our hosting provider (Google Cloud) uses to deliver it. We do not store IP addresses with your results.
3.3 Data that stays on your device
Your progress, best scores, settings (language, sound) and whether ads were removed are stored only on your device. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
3.4 Data collected by services built into the apps
- Google Analytics for Firebase: how the app is used (screens opened, games played and finished, purchases started), an app-instance ID, device model, operating system and app version, language, and approximate country or region derived from the IP address.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash and error reports: what failed in the code, device model, operating system, app version, free memory and storage, and an installation ID.
- Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity (Android) and Apple App Attest (iOS): checks that requests come from a genuine copy of the app on a genuine device, to keep cheated scores off the leaderboards.
- Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and Google's User Messaging Platform: show banner and full-screen ads, and ask for consent where the law requires it. They may collect your device's advertising ID (on iOS only if you allow tracking), IP address, device and app information, ad views and taps, and your consent choices.
- RevenueCat with Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchase (only in apps that offer "Remove Ads"): an anonymous app user ID created by RevenueCat, your purchase history and receipts, and device and app information, used to unlock and restore the purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play or Apple: we never see your card or payment details.
- Google Play / App Store: the app may show the store's own rating prompt and checks the app's public store page for a newer version. These are handled by the store and send us no personal data.
The apps do not collect precise or approximate location from your device's location services, contacts, photos or files, camera or microphone input, messages, call logs, health or financial information, or government identifiers, and they request no permissions for these.
4. Why we use it
The last column gives the legal basis used where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or a similar law applies.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Run the game and its leaderboards: save results, rank them, show names and states | Device ID, leaderboard name, state or province, game results | Providing the app you chose to use (contract) |
| Keep the leaderboards fair: block impossible scores, fake clients and offensive names | Device ID, game results, App Check results | Legitimate interests |
| Understand use, fix crashes and improve the apps | Analytics and crash data | Legitimate interests; consent where the law requires it |
| Show ads, which keep the apps free | AdMob data | Consent for personalised ads where the law requires it; otherwise legitimate interests |
| Sell and restore "Remove Ads" | Purchase data | Contract |
| Answer your messages and requests | Email and its contents | Legitimate interests; legal obligation for privacy requests |
| Comply with the law and protect rights and safety | Only what is needed | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Ranking results and rejecting impossible scores are automatic, but affect only the game.
5. Public leaderboards
Everyone using the same app can see, on its leaderboards: your leaderboard name, your state or province, your score, time, rank and player ID. We may change or remove names that are offensive, impersonate someone or contain personal data, and remove results that are impossible.
6. Who receives data
- Service providers that run parts of the apps for us, under their own terms and privacy commitments: Google (Firebase, Google Cloud, AdMob, Google Play): Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, Firebase privacy; RevenueCat: RevenueCat Privacy Policy; Apple (App Store, App Attest, In-App Purchase): Apple Privacy Policy.
- Other players: only what the leaderboards show (section 5).
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect the rights, property or safety of players, us or others.
- A successor, if an app is transferred to another developer; this policy keeps applying to your data and we will tell you before it changes.
We do not sell your personal data and do not give it to data brokers. Under some US state laws (such as California's), showing personalised ads through AdMob may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out as described in section 9.
7. Where data is stored
Leaderboard data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, in Singapore for the apps of Asia and Africa and in São Paulo, Brazil, for the apps of the Americas. Our service providers may also process data in other countries, including the United States. Where data leaves your country, it is protected by the providers' safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms recognised by other countries' laws.
8. How long we keep it
- Leaderboard data (device ID, name, state or province, results): while the app's leaderboards run, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months, then deleted automatically by Google Analytics for Firebase.
- Crash reports: 90 days in Firebase Crashlytics.
- Purchase records: as long as needed to provide and restore the purchase and as tax and accounting rules require; RevenueCat, Google and Apple keep their records under their own policies.
- Emails: until your request is handled, then up to 24 months unless the law requires longer.
- On your device: until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
9. Your choices and rights
Choices in the app and on your device
- Change your leaderboard name or state or province at any time in the app (Profile).
- Ads: on Android, Settings → Google → Ads lets you delete or reset your advertising ID; on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking lets you refuse tracking. Where the app asked for your consent to ads, clear the app's data (or reinstall it) to be asked again, or ask us to note your withdrawal.
- Uninstalling the app stops all collection by the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use (including for advertising), move it to another service, or withdraw a consent you gave; you can also opt out of sale or sharing for advertising, and you will not be treated differently for using these rights. We honour these rights for everyone, wherever you live, including under the GDPR and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and other US state laws, Brazil's LGPD, Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act, Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law, Thailand's PDPA, the Philippines' Data Privacy Act, Vietnam's personal data protection law, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, Pakistan's applicable data protection rules, Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law, Türkiye's KVKK, Mexico's federal personal data protection law, Nigeria's Data Protection Act, Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012, Argentina's Law 25.326 and Bangladesh's applicable data protection rules.
How to ask, including deleting your data
Email meenzerdev@gmail.com with the name of the app and the ID shown in the app's Profile (tap it to copy). Since there is no account, the ID is how we find your data; we may ask for more to confirm the request is yours. We answer within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires, free of charge. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete your leaderboard records; they leave the public rankings by the next weekly rebuild. Analytics data and crash reports then expire as set out in section 8.
If you disagree with our answer, reply to ask us to review it. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
10. Children
The apps are made for a general audience aged 13 and over and are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us personal data, for example a real name as the leaderboard name, email us and we will delete it.
11. Security
All data between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Only our server code can write results to the leaderboards, after checking them; App Check rejects requests from modified apps; device IDs are never published; and access to the backend is limited to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will act promptly and notify you and the authorities where the law requires if a breach affects your data.
12. Flags, state and province images, maps
The apps show national flags, the flags, coats of arms, seals and emblems of states, provinces, regions, governorates, departments and districts, outline maps of these places, and their names and capitals. These images contain no personal data; this section says where they come from and on what terms we use them.
- National flags: from Flagpedia (public domain).
- Flags, coats of arms, seals and emblems of states and provinces: mainly from Wikimedia Commons. Most are in the public domain (often as official government works) or under CC0; the others are used under their Creative Commons licences (such as CC BY and CC BY-SA), with credit to their authors.
- Maps of states and provinces: drawn from the OCHA Humanitarian Data Exchange Common Operational Datasets (subnational administrative boundaries from each country's national agencies, CC BY-IGO), DataMeet (India, CC BY 4.0), the U.S. Census Bureau cartographic boundary files (public domain) and Natural Earth (public domain).
- Sound effects: from Pixabay, under the Pixabay Content License. Fonts: under the SIL Open Font License.
Every app lists the title, author and licence of each image that requires credit under Profile → Image credits. Images were resized, recoloured or converted to fit the app; these changes are ours and do not mean their authors endorse the apps.
Flags, coats of arms, seals and emblems are official symbols of their governments. The apps show them only so players can learn to recognise them; some countries restrict their use regardless of copyright. The apps are not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any government, state, province or other public body. Maps are simplified for the game and are not authoritative: boundaries, names and designations do not imply any opinion on the legal status of any country, territory or area, or on the delimitation of any border.
If you hold rights in an image, or think one is wrongly credited or should not be used, email us: we will correct or remove it in the next update.
13. Other websites and services
Ads and store pages opened from the apps belong to third parties, whose own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their practices.
14. Changes to this policy
We will publish any change on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will also announce it in the apps or their store listings before it takes effect. Earlier versions are available on request. If this policy is translated, the English version prevails.
